FIRST MERCHANDISE SHOP WIREFRAME
⚠️ My first User Interface Wireframe | Abilities and Difficulties
🛠️ Figma, Adobe Photoshop, & Adobe Illustrator
✅ Class Assignment
⏳Oct 2022 - Nov 2022
As a project for Human Computer Interaction Class, I created my first simple wireframe of how the merchandise shop for The Wertheim FIU Marching Band would look like. The project asked for the option of buying 3 types of shirts, with a friendly user interactive interface. It followed the already existing brand guidelines and applied it to the app interface design.
THE PROCESS
This project let me start “playing around” with Figma, having to first settle down a plan on how the app would portray an easy and comfortable system for the user to rapidly acquire the Merch without having a lot of trouble understanding the functionality.
Even though this does not have an interaction system and design plan as a prototype for now, the wireframes and the foreground design helped me to start getting an idea on what are my abilities and disabilities at that time of creating an interface from scratch.
ABILITIES
When using Figma for the first time and creating a User Journey Map, I discover a plethora of powerful abilities at my fingertips. The versatile design tool allowed me to visualize the entire user experience, from initial touchpoints to final possible interactions. With Figma's intuitive interface, I could easily create my merchandise online shop project, allowing me to test and iterate the designs seamlessly. Additionally, through the process of creating a User Journey Map, I not only gained technical skills but also developed a deeper understanding of user-centered design principles and the importance of empathizing with the user's perspective.
DIFFICULTIES
Firstly, familiarizing oneself with Figma, a powerful design tool, requires a learning curve. Navigating through its numerous features and functionalities may be overwhelming initially. Additionally, understanding the concept of prototyping user journey maps can be perplexing. Beginners often struggle with mapping out the different user flows, anticipating user interactions, and ensuring a seamless experience throughout the app, and I encountered that by creating my prototype.
Furthermore, designing an online shop app necessitates a solid understanding of e-commerce principles and user expectations, which may be unfamiliar territory, mostly in this case where there was no physical client. Overcoming these challenges required patience, practice, and a willingness to familiarize oneself with design principles and user-centered thinking.
